Ok, years ago I saw a special on plants that grow in stone base, with fish living in a tank underneath, and I made this drawing. Fish waste in converted into nitrates, as a fertilizer, and pumped over a sponge, which acts as a prefilter. Water runs through the grow tray which is filled with stone, and is planted, then runs to a drain and back into the fish tank. This completes the cycle...you need bright light, forgot to draw that in.
thats what i call a hardcore fish tank freak. completes the lifecycle, i get it.
