Over the years I have made some drawings of tanks and filter set ups. I'm going to start posting them so I don't have all this loose paper laying around. Some are kinda funny, what was I thinking? This picture was drawn by the friend of the guy I bought the 388gal. from, as I was leaving. The tank has two 2.5" holes in the bottom. PVC has to be run this way, in the event of a power failure the tank will not overflow the sump. This one was very helpful to me.
