Day 52

Dubai Aquarium-future vacation spot! Tank has cured for 24hrs, going to put molding on top, thinking about cutting it more to make sure it fits. Filter changes tanks #9-#12.

Day 51

Filter changes in tanks #2-#5 and #8 today, July 14th since last change. Picking up silicone for broken 75gal, cut black molding this morning. Try to assemble tank today?... 3pm, 75 gal done, 3 pictures,  start to finish. I like to seal the inside at same time, better seal. This one is done inside, picture of that didn't turn out. Put on black plastic molding in 48hrs, time to cure.

Day 50

This is one of the Flowerhorn fry, tank #4, he's about 2"-3". Worked on all the glass for the broken 75gal, cleaned all old silicone off glass. Still need to cut black plastic molding so tank fits. Sorted through old bucket of parts and filters.

Day 49

Cut glass with glass cutter, easy. Took back panel off same 75gal, cut away all old silicone. Finally changed water in tanks #8 and #19 vacuumed gravel too,couldn't get to them the other days, too busy. Try to cut moldings on 75 gal tomorrow so that it fits in bottom triple stand. Worked on blogs.

Day 48

This is a 3000 gallon tank, not mine but a favorite.Tank #19, temp 80*, NO3 20mg/L, 25% water change and vacuum gravel today.

Rob and I built 55/75/90gal. triple stand, and two double 75/90 stands,a couple months ago.

Pleco died in tank #8, unknown why. Water change to day in that tank, 25%.

Day 45

Set up another blog http://www.giantfishtanks.blogspot.com/ , this is a list of all fish tanks on craigslist over 250 gal. and their prices. I'm starting to list the state its in too. Took apart 75gal. that I broke trying to fit into bottom triple stand, just too tight, need to trim molding when i put this one back together.  Need a piece of glass 17"X21", I have a piece but its 48", gonna try to cut it. Did water changes on Flowerhorn fry tanks #4 and#11, 25%. Moved 55gal. cherry oak tank to other side of basement. Picking up minnows(pinkeys) for Clown knife today.

This is one of the Buttikoferi in tank#2. Listed cherry wood 55gal. again, dropped price $100 and listed on craigslist. Also listed 75gal. stands and double 29gal. Removed divider in tank #3, doing some 25% water changes and vacuum gravel, Tanks # 14,15,18. Tank#18 had temp. 80.5*, NO3 80mg/L.

Seeing an increase in growth of Flowerhorn fry, just from an increase in food frequency.

This is the Red Devil in tank #19. The new moves are- Red devil in tank #2 into split 90 gal (tank#15), two Budas from tank #3 to tank #2, African cichlids in tank #6 and Goldfish in tank #7 to split 55gal(tank #3), the last move was Texas blue from tank #17 to tank #8-with Jack Dempsys( Texas is getting picked on alot!). I still have to sort it out, today test tanks #14 and #15, possible water change.

Day 35

This is the Flowerhorn in tank#9, got this fish from Zak a couple years ago. When I got this fish he was grey, and I didn't know what he was. His colors appeared the next day. Shut down tanks # 6,7,17 this morning, they were 29gal., I wanted to have only tanks 55gal. or larger. Combined other tanks with dividers, I'll state who got switched where tomorrow.

Day 34

This is the Red Devil colony tank 180gal. tank #16, repaired and back panel replaced, and this is the barred Midas in tank # 9. Road trip, best pet shop I have been to in a while. Preuss in Lansing, owner introduced himself and gave Rob and I a tour of the whole fish store, even the back. It's an hour drive for me, but it's worth it. Lots of tank set ups, lots of pvc and filtration, got some great ideas. Today- tested tank #13, 79.9*, NO3 20mg/L, 25%wc vac gravel, change filter material, vacuum sump...Ten day retest of tank #2, NO3 20mg/L, 25% wc(water change). Piranhas ate Pleco in tank #18 last night. R.I.P.

Day 33

Tank #11-13 could only get to tanks #11 and #12 today, water change and vacuum gravel. 180 gal. cleared through the night, ended up being a good move for the Red Devil colony. This was a repair tank, wanted to get it filled and try it out anyway. Going with Rob today to Lansing to pick up Parrot fish, we will stop by Preuss pet shop in Lansing  http://www.preusspets.com/  to check out river tank. Put a powerhead in 180gal. to help circulation of water past heater.

Day 32

 Lights for Coralife light came four days ago. Dropped price on 75gal. stand to $40/ best, see what happens. Attempted to move tank#16 (55gal.  Red Devil Colony) into 75gal from Alex, broke 55gal.- too tight, then broke 75gal. 10 min later! Moved colony into 180gal , now it will be tank#16. Repair job on the way for broken tanks.

Day 31

Warranty heater came in mail two days ago. Tanks that I had trouble with tripped again, put an extension cord on two heaters, no problems. Investigate more tonight. Call from Kevin from Phil at Petsmart, pick up two fish (size of your hand) today at 930am, unknown what kind of fish. Work on tanks tonight...went to pick up fish, two 5" Pacu (healthy) put in 380gal. One tiger barb and four neons, put in tropical tank #5. Transfered bala shark to 380gal., beat up by cichlids in tank #4. Tested water in tank#9-12, tank #9- 83.2*, NO3 80-100mg/L, 50%wc and vac g. tank #10- 80.6*, NO3 40mg/L, 25%wc and vac g. tank#11-87.5*, NO3 20mg/L, 25%wc on Thur.-put new heater on this tank,  tank #12- 80.5*, NO3 40mg/L 25%wc and vac g. on Thur.

Day 26

Trouble last night...breaker tripped, faulty heater? Took an hour to figure out, heater on tank #11 out 300W, thrown away. Heater also on tank #13 faulty, it was a heater that Pacu chewed through the wire. I fixed it, lasted for over a year, but it was submersible 200W, moister must wave seeped through. Disconnected, no more problem through the night. Possible test of tanks 9-12 tonight.

Day 25

No bites on fish tank stand, I must be priced to high or bad economy. Going to wait weekend then drop price to $35 on Monday. 24 days since water change on tanks 5 thru 7, tested tank #5- 79.5* NO3 40mg/L, 25% wc and gravel vac. Going to work on tanks 5-8 tonight. Still waiting on bulbs for coralife light from http://www.marineandreef.com/  and warranty heater from http://www.kensfish.com/ . Tested tank #6- 81.7* NO3 10mg/L, no wc, ten day watch, test on 8/14. Tank #7- 72.1* NO3 20mg/L, 25% wc only. 21 days since wc in tank 8, tank #8- 81.9* NO3 80mg/L, 50% wc and vac. gravel.

Day 24

Put one of the 75gal. double stands on http://www.flint.craigslist.org/  , $50. 27 days since last water change, tested water on tank 2,3,4. Tank #2 temp. 79.6*, NO3 10mg/L, No water change just topped off water in tank, 10 day water test, next test Aug. 13. Tank #3 temp.79.5*, NO3 80mg/L, 50% wc and vac. gravel. Tank #4 temp 82.4*, NO3 40mg/L, 25% wc and vac. gravel.
